You can get some nice card stock to print on and put your invitation together and then print it on regular paper first to make sure it comes out how you want it to look. You can use Works or Word to set it up (Word would probably be easiest) and then play with it.

I made my invitations from scratch. What I would suggest doing is using a word based document and print out a bunch of pictures 4x6 on cardstock. Then use a piece of vellum paper that you can get at any craft or scrapbook store and place that over the picture cardstock. Depending on what your wedding colors are, I would use a color and cut that out 5x7. So you'll have your 5x7 color cardstock, paste on top your picture cardstock in center, then the vellum I would just paste the top to corners to the picture cardstock. Finally I would accent the invitation with ribbon. Preferably the color you used for the 5x7. Place the ribbon in the center top of the vellum paper. Tie the ribbon in a bow and you can use an eyehole to keep the ribbon and all pages together. I did something similar to this. Good luck!

There are lots of options for being creative in designing your invitations. If you have a digital photo of the two of you it's easy to put it into a document that you create your invitations from. Check out www.papersdirect.com. They have some very nice papers that are perforated and can be used in laser or ink jet printers with matching envelopes. They also have templates available for helping you create your own invitations.

you can use powerpoint or word or a photo editor if you have one on your computer and use a thick paper. Good luck. Just a word of warning, the ink can get expensive if you plan to do them in color.

I use a program for designing flyers, posters, cards, you name it that sounds like it might work for you. It's called PrintMaster Platinum 16 and it's made by Broderbund. It should do what you're looking for.
