Patronize their businesses, express your condolences respectfully, and pray. Ask them if you can be of service to them.

James 2:14-24 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-- and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," {23 Gen. 15:6} and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

I very heavily doubt there is such element as an Amish substitute software. The Amish have a tendency to be private and stay faraway from the exterior international. Your superb guess would be to discover distant kinfolk of yours who're nonetheless Amish and write a letter to them explaining what you will choose to do. they may be prepared to have you ever come back and stay for a collectively as. in any different case, i don't understand the form you will bypass approximately looking something like that.

Your prayers are invaluable. They have taught me a lot too. I think the best way to help them is to try to live out their principles in our own personal lives: Faith, Love and Forgiveness and simplicity. Their priorities are in the right place and they have that 'peace that surpasses all understanding.

They have so much to teach us all. They made me realize how far we as 'Christians' have been removed from our true Christian priciples.

What peace has all this progress really given us? The world is so full of hate and vengence today. We don't recognize it but we have become our own gods. Too many church goers, and clergy have deserted the true teachings of Christ. So sad, where can it lead???

What does it mean? "Many are called but few are chosen". We are all called but we make other negative choices.

I think that the answer "Spooky" gave was the most anyone can do, and that is to donate to the victims (including the shooter's wife and kids).

Unfortunately, the Amish don't really need anything from us but our prayers. Their funerals are not costly as ours are, and I'm not sure what they would need my money for (although I'd be glad to donate if I thought it would do any good)

Like you, we all want to help, but because they are a people unto themselves, there is not much physically that we can do. Prayerfully though, I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to comfort them and bless them in the future.

www.wpxi.com, which is the local channel 11 in Pittsburgh (now you know where I live) has set up donation sites for anyone wishing to donate to the families of the girls killed, and also the family of the shooter (I cannot remember his name).

We all need to remember that his crimes are not his family's crimes, and his wife and children are deserving of the same help and compassion.

EDIT: The money collected is to go towards counseling for the families, if needed, and to build a new school. Some of the funds will also go to help the families financially. A tragedy such as this takes a toll all around.

I heard that they want to build a new school. I also heard that they do not ask for help, but in this case they are accepting help, and so you might chip in to build to new school. Or you might send a card letting them know what you just said to us.

You might send the card or inquiry to the West Nickel Mines Amish School, Nickel Mines, Pa.

The Amish are not insulted by our praying for them or offering our care and sympathy.

Tell them it is o.k. to put buttons on clothes. They live in a fantasy world and are a bunch of fanatics. Move them to reservations like the indians with wooden slot machines in their casinos. I see Amish chicken in the stores and other Amish products. They are phoney capitalists like the rest of us. They just like hill billy living. I like low tech stuff too but no buttons? Come on. They didn't outlaw buttons in the bible. These are the kinds of beliefs that make religions so ridiculous and makes you realize how stupid people are. They are sheep following each other in a closed community that shuns the rest of the world that they refuse to participate in. Parasites. They should be driven to the desert or into the sea for their greed being low tech in nature it is still greed. Greedy to want to live life cut off from the world and not helping the others outside of their community. To think they are better than everyone. They are in the way of progress. We need their land for building a Wal-Mart. They have brainwashed their children with this ignorant religion and ruined their lives. This should be a crime and abolished. Arrest all the Amish and put them on reservations now for crimes against a free America. They are against their children's freedom and that should be a crime like all religious freaks especially, christians, jews, and muslims.

I'm not sure what is it you think "insults" them. However the Amish like to be left alone they don't like other people trying to interfere with their life.

Show them that there are other people in the world that love Jesus and want to help.
