Depends on what is causing the earcache. Could be something minor or could be something more serious. You really should have it checked at the doctor's.
For temporary relief before you get yourself to a doctor, you can try the following. However, do NOT use any kind of self-remedy if there is a possibility of a perforated ear drum.
1 or 2 drops of expressed juice of Pennywort herb applied with a dropper into the ear canal and stoppered with cotton wool.
If you can get St John's Wort oil, mix about 5 drops of it into about half a teaspoon of Almond Oil or Olive Oil, warm the mixture to body temperature and apply 3 to 5 drops of this into the ear, with a dropper.
If you can't get the oil, then use the dried herb to make a strong infusion, let it cool and apply as for Pennywort above. The fresh herb can also be used as above.
It is imperitive that you have yourself checked by a doctor as soon as you can.

An earache (otitis media) is an infection of the inner ear, not reached by external remedies.. is one of the complications of having a throat infection..The external approach my give relief but does not do anything for the infective process. One of the older treatments for relief is olive oil... then plug it with a cotton ball.
The body may eventually eliminate the infective agent but you also stand the chance of having a ruptured ear drum or some sustained damage to the inner ear. .

Try a heating pad on your ear and go to the pharmacist and ask for antibiotic ear drops called Polysporin. They can be bought without a prescription. If after a couple days it doesn't get any better you need to see a Dr. Ear infections that last longer can cause permanent hearing loss.

Equal parts of rubbing alcohol and peroxide. Warm the alcohol slightly so it won't be cold going in the ear. Let it stay in for a little while and then let it drain out. It may take several time, but my mom always uses this for an ear infection.
