I do have a form of bipolar, but I quit the medication about a year ago. The medication was making me gain weight.
Food I can live without, I have no appetite at all. I make myself eat a small meal per day, or make myself drink 4 ounces of fat free milk per day. I am very careful about what food I do eat-no sweets, no starches, and no soda.

Well, I can't say if it is normal or not. Because I have to sleep at least 10-12 hours a night, or I become extremly tired if I sleep less then that. I also know many people who sleep at least 10 hours a night. Everyones body is different and requires different amounts of sleep. If you are not depressed, then don't worry too much about it. If you feel that you may be depressed, then seek help from a counselor.

You need to train and discipline yourself. No other answer. Just get up. Plan stuff. Get something done. You're missing life.
I get up at 3:30 every morning. At 4:15, I WALK to my gym, which is 3 miles away. There, I work out AT LEAST an hour and a half, sometimes two hours. Then I WALK back home. (It's uphill, both ways...JK). After that I go to WORK, where I do physical labor. I feel GREAT and my body is getting SOOOO HOT.
I'm bushed at night, but I LOVE IT. Try it. Move your body, and you mind will follow. Don't wait to "wake up" before you get out of bed. Get up, THEN wake up. It sucks for the first 15 minutes or so, but once you are alert, it's not so bad.

One thing is for certain. Any person who can sleep 14 hours a day, seven days a week, would be well rested indeed. As much as you may not want to get up, it is a good idea to make an effort, as it is better to get a bit of exercise as well.

You might want to look into having a sleep study. It could be something else, such as hypersomnia or sleep apnea, and that could be making your body feel tired a lot, aiding the bi-polar disorder.
Also, please don't listen to the jerks on here who tell you are lazy and so forth. They've never walked a mile in anyone else's shoes but their own.

Some people need that many hours of sleep but then again you might just be lazy and need to wake yourself up before then. I can sleep for 14 hours but I dont have the luxury. Might also want to see a doctor.

That sounds like it could be a sign of depression. You might want to visit a doctor to see if there is a medical reason behind it.

I only do that when I am really depressed...I am bi-polar and need a lot of sleep, but my average is 10 hours a day.....I know a psychiatrist who is bi polar and she needs 12 hours a day every day....check with your doctor. You didn't say how old you are, but sometimes teenagers do this.....

You need a physical exam. Go see your doctor. You may have a very low thyroid function, which is making you so tired. Or maybe another reason for this. Get it checked.

There could be many different causes for this. You might have hypothyroidism (or low thyroid hormone) and I think that this is an autoimmune disease that can be passed down by heredity. Or you might have depression, etc. I would ask your doctor.
