Many people blame Eve in that she ate of the fruit and then gave it to Adam. If you will read closely, though, scripture says Eve ate of the apple and then gave it to the man "who was with her". If you understand that the role of a man is to be the spiritual leader of the family then very possibly the first sin committed by man was that Adam failed to be a spiritual leader to his wife. He stood there watching it all, listening to what satan had to say and he did NOTHING to stop it.
So before we all gang up on Eve let's all realize that Adam was just as respondible. I think this is an appropriate thought to bring up on the religion and SPIRITUALITY section. Christian men, it's time we all stand up and fulfill our responsibilities to spiritually lead our families.

Oh but He did punish Adam. He said, no longer will the earth yield up its fruit easily to you. You will now labor by the sweat of your brow.

first it was a fruit NOT apple :) like apples too much to give them that role;)
You got it, when God came and dealt with THEM He talked with Adam first then Eve, then the snake.

Get over with it. You should not even think about anyone to blame for. We have to move on like what we have already. Adam and Eve's dust could already have been washed to the sea.
If you think your religion have been nagging you about it tell them to grow up.
All you have to worry now is how we can as people of the world can find the best efforts to really work for peaceful coexistence with every people of the nations. And for our spirituality to grow, let the wisdom we found in all the teachings given to us now be harnessed further to the real understandings of the WORDS we have heard. Satan was very cunning from the very beginning to deceive man and is still a champion deceiver till now. Never think for a second that he is still to come as the Anti-christ...he had been here even before the time of Adam roamimg through the earth. This is his domain that is why it has been so easy for us to destroy each other in many ways instead of knowing how to love one another. So let us not focus on the coming of the Anti-christ as if you are ready to fight against Him but rather focus on calling on the name of God to pour out His anger to banish the evils in us and then give us His blessings once again.

"If" Adam was standing there when she sinned, then yes-he is just as guilty. But if he was not there, then it is a different story. The Apostle Paul thought Eve was more at fault. I think the idea here is that Adam trusted Eve. She was deceived by Satan, then she deceived Adam. 1&2 Corinthians and Titus may give some help here.

Adam was indeed at fault also and was to be the Priest of his family. This shows that women are the "weaker" vessel and satan knew that. They both disobeyed God and sin has been with us ever since. I have often thought what the world would be like had Eve only partaking and not Adam?? just a thought.

Both Adam and Eve have to bear responsibility for listening to the serpent and his lie about not dying. Each one of us have to take responsibility for our own sins. I do not know where the idea of the apple comes from, it is not biblical. It only states, " Tree of the knowledge of good and evil," This blame game by men, is the fact that they do not want to see the nature of their own sin.
We all shall stand at the judgment seat of Almighty God and will answer for our own sins, not place the blame on others. I hope someone can tell me where you find the apple in the Genesis narrative?

well, would be the Bible god's fault. after all, this god is said to have created human nature thus he created humans to be curious and questioning but what does this god do? he invites a deceiver (a deceiver he created) into the garden with two childlike totally innocent beings who don't even know what a lie is much less how to be guarded. and then this disingenuous immortal super being blames these two children for not understanding what obedience or disobedience is or what a lie is or what consequence is then punishes them so severely that the most joyous event in life, giving birth, is turned into torture. what a wacky cruel god the Abrahamic religions worship. how can they trust him when he's been playing nasty head games since The Beginning?
oh well ... other people's deities are just as silly.

If Adam didn't partake of the fruit, he and eve would have been seperated...If that was the case, they couldn't have kids, and therefore, we wouldn't be here. Maybe Eve wanted that knowledge, and wanted to be a mother, which is a wonderful, and loving attribute, and Adam likewise to be a father, or they could have chosen to not partake of the fruit, and we wouldn't be here...
