I would assume that there are more male atheists. Since religion appeals to emotions and women evolved to be more emotional than men (they have to take care of the babies), the women really like religion. If there is a sudy that somehow compares emotion with belief in God, I bet it would turn out that the more emotional people were more likely to believe in God. I think it's an interesting topic. Also, I'm not belittling women. They are needed in the worldjust as much as men are.

I do get rather emotional, it's true, but I don't let that stand in the way of my understanding of reality. I'm a woman and an atheist.
And I don't know if there is a discrepancy either way. I've noticed a lot on both "sides".

Judging from the Atheists on here i would say it is about 50\50. Perhaps being that still there are more men in the scientific fields and there tend to be a large percentage of Atheists in those lines of work maybe there is a slight difference. I'm pretty emotional but I don't believe in god although I am not Atheist either. From personal experience i have found men that are Christian less tolerant than Christian women of other religions and beliefs.

In my experience there seems to be a balance between genders when it comes to Atheism.
Remember that Atheists can also be spiritualists as long as they don't believe in God.
