born enlightened beings? I have learned that we are all enlightented, but why are we not aware of it?

forgetfulness,caught up in the "mind Maze". As pure sunshine passing through water crystals is divided into the colors of the rainbow, the pure light of GODS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE passing through the human brain is divided into duality, in/out, up/down, positive/negative, etc. and passing on through the human emotions changes into conditional love /hate and the whole spectrum of emotions. for more understanding go to the "net" find " Swami Muktananda Paramahamsa " read his synopsis.

Because evil will always exist, it is a counter balance to good. If we have no experience fighting or controlling the evil within us it will always overcome us. So we must learn, just like babies must learn to walk and talk, we must earn our enlightenment by eliminating all negativity from our mind stream.
