There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time.
When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.

Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?
Scholar: I am one of Allah's slaves and God willing will be able to answer your questions.
Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.
Scholar:I will try my best, with the help of Allah
Young man: I have 3 questions:
1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.
2. What is the fate?
3. If Devil was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Devil and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?
Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.
Young man (feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?
Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young man:I really don't understand.
Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young man:Of course, I felt the pain.
Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?
Young man:Yes.
Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!
Young man:I cannot.

Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?
Young man: No.
Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?
Young man: No.
Scholar: That is takdir (fate) my second answer........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?
Young man:It is created from flesh.
Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?

Young man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young man: In pain.

Scholar:Thats it. this is my third answer, Even though Shaitan (Devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, insha-Allah (God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for devil Allah said:
"If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you."

If you are not ashamed, pass this message on...only if you believe.

Common sense and logical thought are sound enough basis for a belief in God. Just as nobody walking along a trail in a forest who comes upon a fully-stocked, well-cared for house and says it just came out of nothing, those with the ability to think will likewise see the ridiculousness of saying that the earth and everything on it came out of some absurd "big bang" and have to admit that there was a caring intelligent source behind everything on this planet and in this universe.

Of course not, the whole point is having faith. Can you justify not believing in god. After all it is you who are in the minority. Most throughout all of History believed in God in one form or another, so if you don't believe thjen it is you that needs a rational basis.

The rationality, or lack of, regarding my belief is no different than the occurance or lack of it in another's non-belief.

there's no rational basis for belief or disbelief in god, your question is moot, neither view is more valid than the other

If you believ that your brain is just a mass of grey matter you will never believe anything and you wont be asking this question.

Why is your fingerprint unique?

Why do you think or learn?

Where do you get emotions?

The Quran can answer your question, if ALLAH wills, or you remain without Guidance.

They just like to believe because it makes them happy. Deciding whether god exists is a battle between intelligence and emotion. It feels good to believe in something bigger than yourself who cares about you, but mountains of data suggest otherwise. Emotion is really a powerful thing.

a rational basis? yes, the Bible is rational, read it! not to mention, take a long look at the world around you, the earth, your family, anything, and God has had/has a hand in it.
