You don't own your children. They aren't your property.

Yes, it is the parents responsibility to teach them. But in the same instance the child has some responsibility to learning their selves. This is because you can instruct, teach, discipline, give religion, give advise, etc. etc. etc.... but when it comes right down to it the child still makes the choice. I came to this realization when after three years of disciplining my child threatening with taking him out of school and the principle even saying the same thing it still did no good so my solution was to tell him that no matter how much we as his parents discipline him or praise him or even the teacher or principle disciplines him only he can choose to be good or bad his choice not ours it worked he has been better this past year than he has in the past three. So you see the parent, school, preacher whatever can only do so much after that it all up to the child. And that is how I see it.

Both my husband and I raise our son. Values are learned though... we are the major focus point in his life right now, but he is also influenced by the public schools and his friends, so they all factor in. As for religion, we don't Teach it to him. We discuss different views and when he asks questions we find the answers, whether it's in a book or we have to find another person (or people) to answer it.

It's the parent's primary responsibility. Every parent owe a debt to raise their children, teach them good moral values, love and protect them, educate them, provide for them and train them religeously as they see best.

I agree with you to a degree
But I never want my kids to question me or what I teach. Hence they'll hear all the side from me first.
When I homeschool I give them the constitution, Das Capital, Quotes of Mao, Roberts Rules of ORder, the Pentagon Papers.
I'll tell them about "lone gun men" and the "alien conspiracy."
I'll tell them to read Alex Jones, Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwell, Malcom X and Germaine Greer
Let them here it from me first, then they will never think I'm hiding or witholding anything.

"...I believe that as these are my children, I bore them, feed them, house them, and love them, they are my responsibility to raise as I see best and this includes my faith." Wonderfully stated...
I agree with what you stated. I will do my best to NOT interfere, as you are responsible , and not me.
Good luck keeping the rude and nosy out of your life.

I agree with that
these are my children God gave my husband and I, it is us who will stand before God for their care not anyone else!!
I find the Bible is the best place to get help in raising them NOT Spock or any other worldly opinion!!!!!!

properly, through fact there are maximum of human beings available who extremely do no longer teach their babies various of something, i think that my widespread accountability is to show my babies the thank you to be the final guy or woman they are able to be (daughter needs to be an x-ray tech/son needs to be a sheriff's deputy) at the same time as no longer being a doormat. To exercising their obstacles at the same time as no longer doing something (bodily or emotionally) to harm human beings. it works the two strategies.

Mom and dad. The government can't even spend your money right , the schools have begun teaching what to think instead of how to think and we know what kids left to themselves become- brats
