Are there no bushes in your neighborhood??

I take my children in two places for trick or treat.

One - our businesses in our downtown have designated times. Every place is safe, the candy is safe, and it's a nice way to see what each store's specialty is. The businesses that don't participate, I won't ever walk into for any reason. If they don't show support for their community, then I don't see why I should support them.

Two - only in our neighborhood. I make a point to know who my neighbors are. And only go to houses that I trust. If I don't know a neighborhood or know the people, we don't go there.

You don't need to go miles & miles and get pounds of candy. It's supposed to be fun for the kids. So, if one of my kids needs to go to the bathroom, then I would have no problem finding a safe place to go.

Otherwise, for other people - just ask. No one minds and people understand. Or leave, and find a public restroom. It won't be fun trick or treating with we pants anyways.

Umm I try to stay close to home. There is no need to cover the whole neighborhood. Then in that situation we are trick or treating near people we know, we will have a better chance of getting to a bathroom on time.

The way I see it there are a few answers depending on where you live.

I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. If you had to use the bathroom. They would let you. Just go in with her.

You can also try to set a route that continually passes friends' houses or people you knows' houses, just in case. I'd prefer if you would use this one.

Tell her to hold it

Tell her to go right before she leaves for trick or treating and if she has to go during then ask a neighbor you know if she can use the bathroom.

Ask at the house where the problem occurs. The people handing out candy are, probably, either parents/grandparents or like kids. They will understand and be happy to help. If they were not that type of people they would not be giving out candy.

You might consider having her wear pull-ups just while you are out trick or treating.

The next house you go trick or treating you ask them if your child can use their restroom. If they say no you let her poop on their front porch.

DING DONG.
"Hi, this is Sophie, can she use your potty really really quick?"

But only if it looks like a "safe" person, and make sure you accompany her.

In a rural area, have her go in the bushes. In a city, gas station or mcdonalds, you know there's one on every corner!

stay in your neighbourhood and insist they go to the bath room before you leave the house!
Ask them frequently, if they pee all the time, if they have to go a little bit at all! and make your way back to your house!
