Yeah, us women... gosh, we wouldn't be around if god's mind hadn't wandered. The men would've had to bear all the children. THAT would've been interesting.

God did make Adam first and he noticed that Adam was lonely so he made Adam fall asleep then he took a rib from Adam and created a wife for Adam. Adam called her Eve. So woman in a since was created after man.

But, at the same time God knows everything BEFORE it happens so before he even created the world he knew that he would create a woman. So really if you think there is no AFTERTHOUGHT to it. God knew exactly what he was doing all along... down to how many hairs are on your head at every moment.

Man made God, and then, as an afterthought, Man made religion, the world hasn't been the same since...

No. God doesn't make mistakes, She wasn't an afterthought. Usually, when God seems to be considering or changing his mind, it's for the benefit of the ones he's dealing with. I'd have to think about this question, though. It's really a very good one. And I think it would elicit some very valuable information about God and His Ways. Thanks!

Well if you're talking Middle Eastern based religions then No. God made man and woman together. Gen. 1:27 This woman is purported to be Lilith. Eve was made later from the rib of Adam because Lilith wouldn't let him be the boss and dumped the jerk for bullying her.

This is why Lilith would probably say "God Made woman then woman made the fish smell and so he made man to get back at her." :)

No, not at all.

Genesis 1:27-28a So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

This ancient Hebrew parallelism indicates that male and female together are made in the image of God. They are in some way incomplete without each other. Some have misconstrued this to mean that singleness or celibacy is evil, but that's not the message at all. It is the love and commitment that commonly forms in a God-fearing marriage that reveals God's nature to us, at least in part.

In Genesis 2 God shows Adam that he is incomplete, unlike the animals. Adam realizes that he needs a mate. Humans are social creatures, and just as God loves us, Adam needed someone to love. Eve was created from Adams rib, to show how inseparable they are.

For you ladies out there in Yahoo!land, consider this. Adam comes from adamah, which is ancient Hebrew for ground or dirt. Adam was given this name because he was formed from dirt. It is woman alone who was created from flesh and bone. So, guys, when a woman calls you "dirt" she may have a point.

Or maybe Man was the practice model, and then He made Woman after He got the bugs out...just a thought.

God made man and realized how bad he screwed up, then he created woman! LOL

I actually think that God made woman so man wouldn't be lonely, plus he wanted us to procreate.

It seems like all the Atheists on here are young and naive.

If your whole reason for denying religion is the Bible...then you are a product of brainwashing yourself. You can believe in God and not the Bible you know...or is that concept out of your grasp?

I don't think "God" , by definition, can have an "afterthought," so no, doesn't "seem about right."
