say you don't understand how computers work. you can use it, and turn it on and stuff, and maybe figure out that one plug matches one socket on the back, but everything inside the case, is out of your realm of understanding.

if I ask you about a detail of a specific component inside your computer, (with those parameters) could you give a meaningful answer? no. the best you could do, is quote from your manual of what seems to resemble what I'm asking about. you won't really understand it, and even reading it doesn't make that much sense to you. if you understood it, you could more effectively answer, possibly without even looking it up, and you could give opinions on the nature and details of it.

I think many people really don't understand their claimed religious beliefs, and thus cannot truly give an opinion on it. and that it boils down to, for them, "some guy in the sky made everything, made a special guy who was his son or something who died, and as long as I belive in that guy I go to a good place when I die" or something like that.

at leat thats my take on it.

Because I like to have proof from Gods word that you can read and see. So you then know the truth...Hey would you look at that I answered without a dozen scriptures or a sermon

I think people just get excited. When people find something that they are so passionate about they're just eager to share it with others, the same way someone would be excited to share a song that they found particularly enjoyable. I would hope that if you stated in your question that you were looking for opinions and not scripture, most people would back off. I know I would.

An opinion requires alot of thought. Are you asking too much of them?

They cover their lack of faith with religionism. People don't truly believe in gods, so they soothe their self-doubt with a facade of religion.

Because that's all they have to talk about.

They Blah Blah Blah on about the bible. But most of it is crap!

I was brought up a catholic. went to catholic schools.
But I chose to have my own beliefs. I don't have to push my views on anyone.

Sometimes people don't really understand what they read so they can't put it into their own words. It's easier to just recite from memory.
