Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Acts 10:42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.
Jesus lives eternally in heaven in a particularly exalted place. He is our Savior and our Judge, so yes, He watches over us. There are many other passages, but these seemed simplest and most directed toward your question. May God bless you and your family richly.

The right answers, or the truth? Jesus is a character in a book that Christians founded a religion around. There is little evidence to support that Jesus was a real person, although it's likely he was, but there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that he performed miracles, or was anything other than an ordinary human being. There is no evidence that he exists today, or that he is watching over us. All Christian arguments are based on faith. If you do not have faith that Jesus exists, than you probably shouldn't be teaching a child about Jesus.
Now you have to decide whether you are going to allow your child to decide for themselves what is reasonable, or if you are going to force a belief system on them. It is entirely possible to raise a child to be moral, ethical and "good" without religion, but some people find it difficult to present ideas that contradict the thinking of the majority. Understand that anytime you teach a child to exercise freedom of choice, you are opening them up to potential ridicule by others who think differently.
You can be honest and straightforward with your child and explain that while Christianity is the largest religion in the world, it's not the only one. There are many people who believe in God and Jesus, and many who believe in other gods. There are some people who spend their whole lives searching for what to believe in, and some who don't believe in anything at all. This doesn't make them good or bad, or mean they can't live good lives. Ultimately, religious beliefs are personal beliefs, and even if you are taught one thing, you can give it up or change your belief anytime you want.
If you are Christian and are not sure how to answer this, it sounds like you are not certain of your own beliefs. It might be time to start examining your own belief system, and perhaps the two of you together will find out what works best.

In Heaven duh!
Acts 1:11 (Whole Chapter)
They also said, " [Acts 2:7; 13:31] Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who [Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9, 22] has been taken up from you into heaven, will [Matt 16:27; Acts 3:21] come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."

Tell him that Jesus is alive and lives in each of our hearts. He is there every minute of the day and he's there to help us whenever we're faced with a difficult situation, to comfort us when we're sad, and to talk to when we're feeling lonely. It doesn't matter whether we talk out loud or in our heads, Jesus will always hear us. Tell him the Easter story of how Jesus rose from the dead to give him a more physical notion of Christ. When I was a kid I really grappled with the concept of God being Jesus and the Holy Spirit all in one. Explain it to your child as being similar to water, ice, and vapour. All are the same thing, but all take on different forms. It is the form of the Holy Spirit that lives in our hearts. Hope this helps!!

well, it depends on whether you want to offer your child common sense and facts or myth and dogma. fact is there is no historical proof Jesus actually existed outside of the myths written about him some 30 - 70 years after his purported departure from the planet. and common sense entails that even if he did exist as an actual human being he'd be dead and dust by now.
if you prefer to offer your child myth and dogma be sure to tell the kid that Jesus is where ever two or more are gathered in his name and also he watches all the time to see if you're naughty or nice ... just like Santa Claus

After Jesus died and rose from the dead...(its in the bible) he promised his discicples he would be with them to the end of the age. Although he rose to heaven, to be seated at the Father's right hand (that where Stephen saw him when he was being stoned to death)...Jesus now lives in the hearts of every believer. If you believe in Jesus, and you have asked Him to forgive you of your sin, then you are a temple in which He can dwell. If you want Jesus to live in your heart, you can, by simply praying and asking Him..."Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. Forgive me of all my sin and come and live in my heart. Make me ready for heaven, the place you have prepared for me. Thank you Jesus. Amen"

Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father praying for us.
When Jesus died, he gave us the Holy Spirit to watch over us, and keep us safe,
Jesus also made angles, to watch over us,
But Jesus today, is in Heaven with Father God.

You know Jesus is all around us all the time. If your trying to explain to a 7 year old where Jesus is point out the beautiful things he has made. For example, flowers and trees, butterfly's etc. The 7 year old will get it if you make it easy to relate to things they see everyday. The bigger picture will come in time. I hope this helps you!

The fact of the matter is, if Jesus did walk the Earth as I think he did, he is now long since dead. Explain to your child that some people believe that Jesus is still alive in heaven, but at the same time let her know that no one knows for sure..
That is what I will tell my daughter when she asks me. It is really up to you, and what your beliefs are. I do not support religion, but I am not going to dictate to you how to raise your child.
