Is it weird to have a bad boy fetish at age 20?

I made my ex boyfriend quit cigarettes for me, only to have me occassionally smoke them now...the irony.
I am very attracted to the bad boy image, but as I go to an Ivy League uni, it's hard to find guys like that since many are nerdy preps. I go for the "tortured" image so to speak, or guys with issues. They intrigue me.

Is this weird? I'm almost going to graduate from college, so I'd think I'd be over it by now.

No it's not weird, but you seem unusually intelligent and mature for recognising it in yourself at such a young age.

You sound like you want a "fixer-upper", and you are probably very caring and a bit maternal.

Also, it sounds like these bad boys are out of your usual social class, and you dont get to meet many, so no wonder they are exciting to you.

Anyway I fully agree and sympathise ... hopefully you can find someone who has the bad boy image and the "issues", but is also a decent, kind, smart and loving guy.

This is perfectly normal. Why do you think the media hype the bad boy style the most? It sells to the most women. Why do ladies agree to go to all those action movies with the guys? Do we really like the car chases? Even in very obviously romantic movies, the lead is very rarely pure sugar. Even us old gals who have had years of training in counseling have a weak spot for that bad boy. I think it's in the genetics, women are attracted to it, therefore breed with them most, and the cycle continues.

I would think about why you have the tendency to choose the ones that need fixing. Not all bad boys do, but you'll be stuck repeating bad relationships if you insist upon choosing the ones that need fixing. It is one of the lessons of being a woman, they are not all diamonds in the rough and very few want a relationship. Especially those who have found out that girls will give in to them easily. Being smart doesn't mean you have to give up that rugged bad boy, it only means you'll need to curb cravings until you find exactly what you're looking for.

My advice to all women is to get your career going before you start seriously looking. I know this is the hardest thing for most ladies to do. Trust me, no guy is there to 'give' you love if it's not already there in your heart. If you haven't found Mr. right already, the best thing to do is focus on your career and let Mr. right come to you. When you are ready, he will. He always does for those who want him.

NOOOOoooooo its not weird. First off girls are ATTRACTED to bad boys, (like me :) 2ndly if we find out in the long run they are a really good boy at heart--THAT IS OUR DREAM GUY! Like 99% of girls i know TOTALLY agree with me. Trust me. Just roll with what you are doing--like just keep living life---and if you are single you wont be for long. :)

not at all honey you're still young. Most good girls are attractive to thug guys anyway. You can try to go on dates with good guys to see if that's what you want.
