Every day it ends up being this big fight. And people ask questions trying to insult everyone else.

I'm begging you all, can't we try and get along?

Are you really entertained insulting one another?

I'm not, lets have an intellectual discussion on here when we ask these questions, ask some good questions please.

It would be more entertaining.

I'm just so sick of everyone insulting everyone. Get a grip act like an adult.

One side can't exist without the other. I tend to avoid this section unless the REAL What Should I Do Retard is here. He's the only one who makes any sense.

I hope I haven't insulted anyone. But for my two cents, it is the flagrant proselytizing that is offensive to me. Why can't "believers" just keep it to themselves? I really don't care how Jonah was able to survive inside a whale. People ask religious questions not so much because they seek an answer, but more because they want their cohorts to join in with blessings all around. I for one support Sam Harris' philosophy that enough is enough, and that it is way past time to stop being tolerant of this espousing of myth as fact. Truth and rationality is going out the window and need defending, and I think that people that respond in a manner that may not necessarily "please" those good folk that ask their misguided "holy" questions are doing a great service. Keep up the good work, I say.

Let the thumbs down begin.

As long as people believe differently I am afraid that they will fuss about what they believe in It would be nice if the fussing would stop Guess I missed out! Just got on this sight! While it has been said that it is impolite to discuss religion politics and sex in public these seems to be the favorite topics for people! Now I guess I will start something for saying that word on here!

You are right, but unfortunately, this fight will never end unless each man learns to realize that he is completely ignorant in order to start searching for the true source of knowledge.
Our world is at the twilight of a new day, if we looked back we would brutally fight in the darkness of our cave for our blind survival; if we look forward we will see some rays of light, and with light we see the magnificent colors of the boundless universe to enjoy.
A famous Vietnamese poet had written this beautiful verse:
"God's repository is for all people, but I enjoy this immensity as my own possession."
Life is truly a struggle, but it is the struggle with our lower self, and not with other beings. The world will become perfect when each person learn to cooperate, to share, to give...Yes, we should learn.

This is a 'microcosm' that reflects the reality of the world. If people in the world can't get along,, if people in the USA can't get along,, if people in my city can't get along,,, then this site will be the same.

I do really agree with you that everybody, no matter what they believe or don't believe should be respectful to one another. And I further believe that if one person is a disruptor and comes to make trouble, we don't have to take the bait and get all out of shape.

Some of the problem is people who ask sarcastic questions, and they love to see the fights. Let's not give them the satisfaction.

If someone comes out with an insult, or a rhetorical question that is just bait for a fight - Report Abuse and Move On. Whether it is an atheist that has come to stir up trouble, or a Christian who feels obligated to preach hellfire and brimstone, or a pagan that wants to assert her/himself,,, each of us would do well to not fall for intimidating statements or questions. Be a good example of whatever. The ones who try to make others look bad really only make themselves look like jerks. Do not stoop to the level of a jerk! It only makes two jerks!

For folks like Eagleflyer who are not interested in Jonah, simple, don't click on the Question, and if you don't want discussions on religion, go to a category that you are interested in. I stay of of the computer section because it doesn't interest me, but I don't demand that they get rid of the computer section! I don't click on Questions about dating, because I am past that, but I don't go in and make fun of those who are into that, nor demand that they get rid of it because I am not into that. But if you do click on a Question about Jonah, then expect to see stuff about Jonah, and you don't need to bash it.

'Whynotaskd___' you and all your varied id's are some of the worst offenders, for asking sarcastic questions and baiting to stir up arguments.

(edit) I've just looked at other answers, and the few that are really insulting are insulting people with religion. Why are they in this section? If you don't like something, whether religious people, gays, democrats, sports just go to a different category that you do like. Simple as that.

Different strokes for different folks. Live and let live, eh? As long as it is positive and constructive anda respectful of others, and for ages 13 and up,, there is a lot of room for variety.

It will stop when and only when Yahoo provides a section for Christians and another section for atheists. Really, there is no point whatsoever to Christians and atheists communicating on this forum. Nothing an atheist says is going to sway my belief because they are simply wrong. And nothing I say is going to sway an atheist because everything I say I base upon the truth of the Word of God which atheists reject.

The response of babygurl supports my position. She's says "I don't care what people believe in as long as they don't tell me what to believe in." Then what is the point of the forum. It's like we're all talking to a post.

You are a hipocrite pal. You ask Christians to prove the existence of God. It is BY FAITH we are saved. We don't need proof. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

I pray to God and God has answered my prayers. I just KNOW there is a God and it is a really nice feeling to know such a loving, forgiving God. To have faith in Him gives me peace in my mind, hope for the the future, and love in my heart. You really should try God's forgiveness and have a close and personal relationship with Him. It would change your life.

ur right
this should be a place where we gather to share insight and grow as individuals and a people as a whole - we all have to share the same planet but not the same beliefs - so lets all get along and try to help each other out to get through this thing we all call "life"

Allow me to call you Jim as if I know you personally. If you for quite sometime chanced upon some of my answers regarding your questions, you will find that I too was looking for that kind of healthy exchanges of points for learning.
As long as we have people who enjoys slinging mud against each other, this scenario will have no ends. I agree with you totally.

I agree with you, but honestly i'm not seeing it happening anytime soon. To tell the truth, I try not to say anything much about my religon for fear of people verbally attacking me. Like you I already saw it, and it's happened to me outside this question thing. Not a very fun expierience.
