I am so angry at the misinformation claiming that illegal immigrants are the source of certain infectious diseases. For example, measles & whooping cough are diseases that are entirely preventable by vaccine. The fear mongers (you know who they are politically) want you to believe that these infectious diseases threaten our children. It is not possible for the diseases that can be prevented with vaccines. We do have U.S. citizens who withhold vaccinating their children for a variety of stupid reasons. Then there are other diseases that are written about that are not easily transmitted by casual contact such as hepatitis B & C & HIV. EV68 has been around since 1962 which if imported from Central American children would have first appeared as case clusters at the border when it actually broke out in our mid west.

Legal immigrants go through medical screening. By entering illegally, there is no medical screening. Diseases once eradicated from the USA have begun to show up in states bordering Mexico.

This website explains the diseases they are bringing in and some are INCURABLE:

By allowing illegal immigration the USA is wide open to disease, criminals of all kinds, depressed wages, increased taxes, destruction of our neighborhoods, closing of hospitals, and the list goes on and on. How can any intelligent citizen, who works in this country, with children or aging parents, who wants to preserve our heritage for our future generations, be FOR illegal immigration? It makes no sense what-so-ever.

YES! The problem is that when they,(Not all of course),see a doctor and receive meds, they do not take the whole prescription. Thus the bacteria get stronger and stronger. After a while you get super strains of a disease. We here in America had almost totally stomped out Tuberculosis. Guess what? They have brought it back. And what's more, now it is a super strain. This is only one example.

They also have a different way of looking at sickness and treatment of it. Then there is the superstitious problems also.

Anyone can spread a disease so long as it is contagious. So, yes it is possible that an illegal immigrant bring a disease over to the U.S.

One shouldn't blame Illegal immigrants for trying to make a better life for themselves. If it weren't for U.S. companies going out of their way to pay third world countries a few cents and hour we wouldn't have such a big problem with illegal immigration!

Tuberculosis and Hepatitis are common in illegal immigrants. These diseases were nonexistant in the US but have made a comeback due to illegal immigration.

Make sure your children have their immunization shots.

TB, Hep A, mumps is sweeping across America after we innoculated all our kids from it for the last few decades. There is a reason why we have immigration laws, so we can screen and quarantine people with infectious diseases so the rest of the country will not face those epidemics that the 3rd world faces.

Illegal Immigrants have always brought diseases with them. Doesn't matter what county you live in, any time you have foreigners coming to a new place, they will bring germs that their ancestors have already built an immunity for. The Native American Indians suffered greatly from European diseases when the White came uninvited and stole all their land.

The Latino population brings a higher rate of undiagosed hepatitus C than any other culture of people, combined. We (taxpayers) pay for it through treatment and screeing,,,,,,,,much more tha you ever sould imagine.

My jail alone, holds appx. 100 illegals, 5% are Hep. C positive; it's thousands for treatment------and that's only a very very small amount, that are in custody......now calculate that against w/what is just walking around out there........

yes, some poorer countries do not immunize like they should, but illegal or legal bring diseases here. Look at HIV, it didn't start here, it was brought by a stewardess (is that PC?) on a plane - he was here legally.
I'm not saying it was his fault, he didn't know he was infected, no one knew about HIV and it would have came here one way or another anyway- don't want anyone yelling at me.
