In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

IF there is a satan, then he fully expects to someday be unemployed, and even destroyed. The Bible says that God will bring forth a fire from the midst of him and turn him to ashes on the surface of the earth. He tells him, "Thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." Probably, if satan actually does exist, he now realizes that he cannot hope to thwart God's plans, and only continues to resist Him out of sheer pig-headedness. The Christadelphians do not believe in the existence of satan, and I tend to think they may be right.

There was a question earlier about a snake eating it's tail and I think this would be a prime example. A church somewhere (can't remember where) has a stained glass window of a black dog chasing it's tail. That represents the evil one too. He will not succeed though. We know how the story ends.

Satan aid is to be like God. Isaiah 14: 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Isaiah 14: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. His end will the lake of fire. Revelation 20: 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Satan already knows he will be destroyed, it is his intent to turn as many people away from God as possible. He is trying to prove that God does not have the right to rule over his creation.
Beyond being unemployed, he is determined to kill as many people and other angels as possible.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life. John chapter 3 v 16
Satan will one day be destroyed.
You have a choice - where will you spend eternity?

The point is to never willingly give up. To keep fighting with faith, and giving it your best shot. For yourself, your family & your friends. Knowing in the end that Jesus will take care of Satan!

NO. It is not SATAN's aim to destroy mankind. It is MANKIND'S aim (maybe even unconsciously) to destroy ITSELF.
