What do you take into account when choosing to buy a new car?

If you are talking about cost wise- you need to not look for the car that maxes out your budget as you will immediately have to get and pay for car insurance- especially if you are buying a new car- often full coverage is required and insurance on a new car is goign to cost more- you will need to think about taxes, costs of warranties (if you want to go above the basic warranty)

As for the car itself- what is the purpose of this vehicle? Look at the safety rating, gas mileage, what features do you need and what features can you afford to do without when thinking of cost.

What do you want to be able to do (things that oyu might not do on a daily basis but do not want to be limited from if the occasion comes up (for example- being able to carry around several people at once, hauling things, camping needs, hunting etc)

If a car interests you look online for consumer feedback regarding htat vehicle and ask other owners about their experiences.

The price of course, the past history of the manufacturer for this type of vehicle (if there is one), what it will be used for, safety, gas mileage, and comfort.

I prefer to buy a car that is slightly used, to save money and know more about that particular car's history. Also saves me money on insurance.
