There were 9 ducks because there was one duck in front of the
2 ducks which equal 3 duck all together then there was a duck behind another pair of 2 ducks and that maid 6 ducks cause 3+3=6 then there was a duck between 2 ducks which was another 3 ducks and 3+3+3=9 ducks altogether!
I did the math on paper then keep reading the riddle over and over again so that I get what you are saying. When I was done, I had to figure out a way to tell you how I got my answer then I checked, checked and checked again for any obstacles couses or things that did not sound right to me!

this csn be done two ways to get two different answers for the same question watch
with the answer of 3
1 duck will be in front of 2 others when you start with the lead duck, a duck behind w ducks when the duck is in a row of 3 one in front of another, and a duck between the front and last duck
with an answer of 5 if you count the ducks while in a row and you go to duck 3 that duck will be in front of 2 ducks, while he will also be in front of two at the same time yet he is also between two ducks because in a line when you are in the middle you are between two
