There will not be peace in the world until Jesus Christ returns.

Worship of God will never guarrantee the PEACE we are looking for in the world as long as those who worship Him carry within them the hatred in their hearts. Prayers and sacrifices may help only in keeping up hope but man's action to really work for peace is what is needed. If all people will change for the good then even nature that we have not much control of may be tamed by the will of God.

Evidently it has not brought universal peace but that is a state that has eluded mankind from the beginning of history.
One might add that atheism has also so far failed to bring peace to the world and is at least equally responsible for creating conflict.

When a person becomes a Christian, one of the results of being baptised in The Holy Spirit is that you become more peaceful. So Christianity does bring about peace, one person at a time.

the worship of god [religion] has done nothing but cause suffering murder and genocide. just go back in history to discover all the killing that's been done in gods name, mainly by Christians by the way! just look what the conquistadors did in south America, all but wiped out the Aztecs etc, the crusaders did in the middle east. and Hitler even reckoned that god was on his side! murder and ethnic cleansing all in gods name and for the holy roman catholic church. sorry to be so negative, i am a christian who is doubting his faith. god cant be there just to be worshipped, and dish out the punishment after we die. i want to see these murderers, rapists and paedophiles suffer now, not when they die, cos we might not get the chance to witness them getting their just deserts. i would like to think that men and women of god are kind loving gentle people, it hasn't been proven to my satisfaction yet.

More people have been killed in religious conflicts than any other kind of war. I guess if dead means peace, then I suppose you could say religion brings peace... the "Rest In Peace" kind of peace.

Would more people prefer to die in a religious war or a normal, non-religious war? Does it make a difference? Seems to me that dead is dead no matter how you slice it.

There is only one true (religion) as there is only one true God. The rest of the religions and governments are under Satan's control. As the bible shows it is Satan that rules this world. Like when Jesus was tempted by Satan, Satan offered all the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would do an act of worship to him. Jesus did not challenge Satan's claim that the kingdoms were not his, So Satan does or is allowed by God to have control of governments in this world hence is why we have wars and the famines because of the wars.

Jesus did not come to give peace between people, but between those who believe and God.

Luke 12 KJV

51 Suppose ye that I [Jesus] am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

there is not peace, but rather division, as those who are unsaved are divided against the people of God, and within themselves.

Quite the opposite, religion is used to dupe the population, promote hatred and justify wars.

And some fat buggers make a fortune from it, manufacturing the instruments of war and controlling and lending the money to conduct it etc...etc...etc...
