Seeking info from anyone who can offer info on living in Turkey, my husband hasnt lived there in about 10 years so its a realistic and scary thought for us all but inevitable to keep our family together after 10 years of marriage keeping our family together is the most important but very difficult especially when dealing with other family members and there concerns and thoughts and ours as well.
knowing what has to be done can be very difficult and doing it is even more.
note: Me and the children have also never ventured outside the USA so you can only imagine.
So Please send me your thoughts and ideas

Don't despair! Turkey is not a bad place for foreigners, especially the big cities. Istanbul, for example is visited by a lot of tourists. Ankara, being the capital, is also very foreigner friendly because of the large consular populations.

Again, don't believe everything you hear or watch about my country (Yes, I'm Turkish). My wife's a foreigner and she's very happy.

Please feel COMPLETELY free to ask any and all questions. If I don't know much about the place you're going, I'll point you in the right direction.

I do ask for something in return: When you settle here and find out that you like it here after all, tell it to your friends and family. Good way to remove some of the prejudice and fear about Turkey...

I have never been to Turkey, But I have traveled outside the United States. I suggest to you, to keep an open mind, and don't expect similarities. Try and learn as much as you can about Turkey from your husband and any other resources you can find. If you dont already speak the language, it would be good to start. That way you wont feel so "scared' as you say

Good Luck!

First of all, do not believe in half of what u can find about Turkey on the net. Not that I live in Turkey, but it is a great country for expatriates who have an open mind in terms of diversity. People are very friendly and you can find almost anything you can find in US depending on which part of the country you are going.
you will love Turkey I am sure!
any questions are welcome.

What?? In English Please!!

Is your husband military? Is he being deployed to Turkey?

It is not the safest place in the world to live but if your husband has to deploy there then I would go unless you both agree it's safer for the children and can wholly commit to one another and remain faithful, then you and the kids stay here and wait faithfully and patiently for him to return.
