Doesn't seem possible to me. If your not conditioned in childhood to accept the ridiculous propositions without critical examination I just don't see how you could possibly be convinced as an adult unless you're recruited in the middle of a severe mental and emotional crisis.

While there is a correlation between independence of thought and IQ, I don't think you can establish a strong correlation between IQ and adaptation of a religious belief.

Adaptation of a religion seems to be related to the environment more than to the genes.

I know people who won't discuss religion with their kids, I know one mother who's atheist, and I think she actually encourages faith. Her IQ and her son's is above normal range.

Just because someone is raised to be an athiest doesn't mean they are stupid to adopt a religion. Maybe they just need something to believe in.
