I am a Christian myself, and so I know what you're getting at here, however I think that Christianity has screwed up pretty bad in the past. Look at all the wars that have been fought in the name of God, and the people that have been killed for the sake of Christ. I can understand the resentment towards a religion that preaches one thing and yet does another. Years and years ago the Catholic Church made a really bad reputation for themselves by pressuring society into joining their cause... a reputation that still exists today, and for good reason too. It doesn't matter who you are, or what you believe in, you shouldn't have to be subjected to others pushing their beliefs upon you. It's unfortunate that today, true Christians who believe that Christianity is more about a relationship with Christ than it is about attending a church service are subjected to the negative fallout from previous generations. (Not saying it doesn't happen today too... there are plenty of people out there who call themselves Christians and have it all backwards.)

I grew up as a Christian, so I know it inside and out. This familiarity makes me somewhat of an expert, as I am quite adept at recognizing the fallacies and problems with it. I don't attack Christianity per se; I simply illustrate the truth. I have nothing negative to say about Buddhism, as it is technially an atheistic religion. If I had to choose a religion, Buddhism would be it.

Your conclusion is based on a false assumption - that atheists have any interest in attacking any religion.

And if you're familiar with this site, then you should already know that often the majority of those posting, or responding to, questions about religious belief are fundamentalist Christians. And since it seems that their basic tenet is "Love Jesus or Die!", which makes conversing with them both unpleasant and pointless, it makes justified objections to their tirades seem disproportionately numerous.

If you don't want people to react negatively to you...then perhaps you should refrain from throwing shitballs at them.

Atheists tend to attack religious groups that keep attacking them, cramming their religion down their throat and trying to dictate their life. It just so happens that the religious group that is most active at those things here is Christians, so they get what they give.

Personally I've lost count of the times Christians have attacked me for my disbeliefs while so far no other religious group has ever directly attacked me. Debated yes, but not attacked or behaved as badly towards me for my disbeliefs as the Christians have.

Because the Hindus, Rastafarians, Jews, and Buddhists DO NOT bash the atheists like the Christians do.

See? You get what you give. Be tolerant of others and they will be tolerant of you.

I don't "attack" Christianity. I have never had any problems with any other religion. I can't help if that there are so many Christians on here who try to push their religion on to me when its clearly unwanted. I have a problem with those Christan's not the religion its self. You can believe in what ever you want as long as you don't try to push it on me.

What are you talking about? Have you looked at the questions on here lately? All religions are (rightly so, in my opinion) attacked.
I must admit, however, that the Christians make for the most tempting target. Oh, the things they'll say....

Frankly I believe it goes both ways . . . why do Christians attack Atheists? There are some who ask baited questions.

I don't attack anything, you have the right to believe what you want to believe. I'm just your average beer drinking non-believer heathen is all. If Church is how you want to spend your Sunday and Wednesday nights. You go for it. Don't forget to give em some cash while your at it :)
