naw ... anyone can quit eating but fasting, real fasting takes preparation and knowledge. ya just can't quit eating without first being healthy enough to do so and once the fast is over you can't simply start cramming solid food into your mouth. ya gotta return to eating regular food slowly by first consuming fruit juices and mild soups and work up to your normal diet. failing this the stomach rebels causing cramps and diarrhea. people with hypoglycemia can't fast at all because blood sugar levels drop too rapidly causing headaches, illness and fainting. and ya gotta drink water, lots of water because dehydration can be very serious health risk.

i mean ... unless the whole point of the fast is to punish your body so severely that you start starving causing your brain to produce hallucinations.

i dont think so. but then if you are a christian and do want to fast you must not comprehend the meaning of what Jesus did for everyone. But most just don't want to give up there comfort zone at taco bell.

Fasting is a superstition.
The only power any superstition
holds, is our belief in it.
Look at the average American, today.
Obviously, not many people are into
"fasting."

No not at all. I am betting many people find the idea of self denial alien. Chalk it up to the "It's all about me." thinking.
