I grew up in southwest Missouri and always referred to slumber parties as "bunking" parties until we moved to Illinois. I've never heard the term since. Has anyone else heard of or used this term?

I have always called them sleep overs... or "slumber" parties... I hav the same problem though, I grew up in california and moved out to NC 2 years ago, and they call everything different here, carts are called buggies, the flea market is called the trade lot. There are many others... I never knew what anybody was saying or talking about!
