"shrinks" just use regular couches I thought...unless you are thinking of those fainting couches that have only one arm and sometimes have a back that slopes downward. You may also be thinking of a chaise.

Actually, the correct French term is "Chaise Longue" although the wording has been Anglicized into "lounge".....which translated literally would be a redundant term. A related piece of furniture of this type from the French Empire period is known as a "Recamier". This term was inspired by the famous portrait of Madame Recamier painted by Jacque Louis David which shows the lady lying on a piece inspired, in turn, from a Roman model.

If you are talking about the black, tufted leather "sofa" that is sort of sleek looking, I think you are after Mies van der Rohe's "Barcelona Lounge". Try Knoll. I know they have it because I just specified one on a project. They do great mid-century modern reproductions.
