If salvation depended on religious sincereity and knowledge, the Jewish Ruler called Nicodemus would certainly have qualified.
Yet the Lord Jesus said to this morally upright man:
"Ye must be born again"
What do YOU think this means?

Salvation is the key to everlasting life. Religion is just another word for tradition. You go through life in a routine manner but you have to live it in everything you encounter. I say it like that because life comes at you hard and fast. You never can tell what is going to happen. But you have allowed Jesus in your life and let him lead you and live in love then you will make it to the other side. In all things give thanks.

You must be born of water and the spirit to enter the kingdom of God. The 'born of water' bit does not refer to water baptism (as Jesus would be changing the subject) but instead to the birth all people have (we're surrounded in water for the first 40 weeks (or so) of our life. This removes any of the angels who fell from entering again into the kingdom. They were created, not born.
When you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and get saved you become a new creation. You are no longer in the flesh but in the spirit. Religious sincerity, knowledge, piousness . . none of that will profit you if you don't have faith. The Apostle Paul was considered a Pharisee of the Pharisees . . . yet he was lost until he was born again.

Born again is a term used primarily in the Evangelical, Fundamentalist, and Pentecostal branches of Protestant Christianity, where it is associated with salvation, conversion and spiritual rebirth. Outside of these circles, the term is often applied by extension to other phenomena, including a transcending personal experience — or the experience of being spiritually reborn as a "new" human being.

To be born again in Christianity is synonymous with spiritual rebirth and, in many denominational traditions, salvation. The term is used somewhat differently in different Christian traditions.

The Christian use of the term is derived from the third chapter of the Gospel of John, where Nicodemus visits Jesus:

Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. He came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God."
Jesus answered him, "Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again."
Nicodemus said to him, "How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit."
-John 3:1-5 (New Revised Standard Version)

this was to show him what was to be the plan of salvation after the death burial and Resurrection.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

and was done exactly as such on the day of Pentecost.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

the bible is easily silent on u.s.. yet as we attempt to decipher what went into the hearts and minds again then there is fairly a disagreement between how non secular they were. no longer less than a number of them were quite committed and some others were easily in touch with mysticism and the full masonic order stuff. you spot God is complete of mercy and beauty and frequently will say choose England with a united states it quite is in insurrection. The English had it coming and the individuals were some distance from ideal yet in case you're taking the regulations of blessing and cursing that God utilized to Israel we may be able to work out that once you've received the reward they're in elementary words maintained through following the precepts of righteousness. we've got departed completely and if you're prepared to examine Leviticus 26 and Duet 28 you could locate the particular grants. the U. S. has never been in a extra precarious plight and it coincides precisely with leaving the failings that incur blessing and embracing the failings that convey a curse. i imagine that that's a lot more suitable than a twist of destiny yet in simple terms positioned it available that you'll be able to consider. God is easily no longer silent of Jericho...he sights the pagan practices and the infanticide they did...the conquest of the Indians develop into one challenge yet what percentage Indians did truly develop into Christians in this era. keep in mind God kept Rahab and all her homestead because she believed and confessed that the God of Israel. because the Indians might want to have had a respectable society; they in accordance to scripture might want to were from between the sons of Noah and left the custom and embraced an earth depending spirituality. there closeness with the earth is cool even with the indisputable fact that that's diverse than closeness with the author; God does no longer love the colonist more suitable than the Indians and the winners and losers in conflict in accordance to God's attitude are diverse than ours, seem at WW2 no you would possibly want to assert that God chosen Germany over Israel. yet through this atrocity the country of Israel develop into reborn. we may be able to no longer sit down and choose historic previous and appropriately understand the hows and whys issues ensue.

>"Until you trust that Jesus is God and your savior in your heart, you cannot be saved. "

why is trusting that God is God and my savior not good enough? why do I have to share your idol?

>>"HE MEANT YOU MUST DIE TO YOUR OLD SELF AND BECOME NEW AGAIN "

your ashamed of how God made you to begin with? he didn't do a good enough job the first time, and you think you can do better?

>>"When you die, you're just DEAD. That's all. "<<

I'll have to remember that next time I talk to my friend who died, through my other friend whos a medium.... (lol)

you know the description some people have for this "born again" thing almost sounds like jesus was preaching reincarnation.

but he was anyway, so thats fitting.

Just like you were born by your mother and came into this life-you must be born of the spirit. You have to believe what God says- The word of God is the seed, your repentant heart is the fertile soil (unfertilized egg). When the seed lands on the egg, "faith happens (conception). If that faith is allowed to be nurtured by the word, it will grow and grow until it has enough strength to believe (be born). Then you have a "new" person, born by the word of God.
Amen-

He had been raised in a religious enviourment. But he was not yet a christian, until being born again.
You can live well all of your life, doing what's right. But It will not matter unless you give your heart to Jesus.

"ye must be born again." Meaning.... you have to become a new person through the help of God.... born a new person... so on and so forth.

I think it means you have to grow in christ... to learn to be like christ... you cant fully change over night but you can definatly take it a step at a time.
