You don't have to stop eating, you just need to stop eating so much fat and sugar. And since you are not exercising, you should cut down on carbs in general. It's really just going to take self-control.

Tough problem.
1. Drink tons of water to fill your stomach.
2. Choose low calorie food.
3. If you aren't moving around you need to include lots of fiber that will a) fill you and b) keep your bowels moving.
4. Exercise what areas of you that you are permitted to use. Burn off calories.
5. Find something else to do when you are hungry. IF you are still hungry after a glass of water and doing something else for fifteen minutes then perhaps you need a piece of fruit etc. But if you are eating from boredom it will pass.

Good luck.

If part of your pain treatment is steroids good luck. If you are in physical therapy ask you therapist what you can do to help. The use of different strengths of long pieces of rubber may help. The last time I was on a steroid pack, for 10 days, I gained fifteen pounds.

You can keep your weight down by changing the foods that you eat. Filling foods that are not fattening is frozen vegetables with baked fish or chiken. You can exercise while sitting down and have effective results. Get exercise bands for resistance and coordinate your own workout to fit your needs.
