LCD only excludes Plasma and rear projection!
LCDs are only gradually coming to that size and you still have the potential problem with dead pixels that will stay black forever.
My personal preference would be a DLP (Digital Light Processing) set. They have vastly superior pictures to LCDs or plasmas, and once they use a laser light source, will have brightness and longevity advantages like no other. Also, they will NOT burn in an image, if used for games or as a computer monitor.

Flat panel LCD has not reached that size yet. You'll have to go for projection LCD or DLP, or plasma.
