either get your mom to talk him into keeping the poor little guy or ask around and see if you can find someone who would be willing to keep him and care for him the same way you would and then you could at least go to visit him and see how he is doing i hope your dad will let you keep him because you sound like you would take good care of him good luck

I'm not sure of your area, but in some places there are people who "foster" kittens and cats, in other words they take care of them until they get a permanent home. You can try to raise him and keep him in your room, you'll need kitten formula and a kitten bottle if he's under 6 weeks. Call the ASPCA or other local animal rescue places and see what info. they can give you. Look up Kitty Adoption Team (K.A.T.) and see if they have people in your area who might be able to help you. Whatever you do, don't abandon the poor little guy. You might even want to call vets and see if someone who works at a vet clinic is compassionate enough to take him in. Good Luck, and kudos to you for wanting to take care of the kitten.

If the kitten has been abandoned there is usually a reason - I would have it check ed out by a vet straight away. If nothing else, he/she will tel you best how to care for the kitten, including any food supplements it might need (my kitten was abandoned at 4 weeks - she needed calcium for about 2 years - she's still not as affectionate as a normal housecat -that comes from the lack of social development in her youth, but she is quite social).
Its not a good idea to hide a pet from a parent - pets become members of your household too and do you want to risk getting attached to the animal to have it taken away? Discuss it openly and you have a chance to put your case forward..

Your parents need to reach some agreement about this. A kitten needs shots, testing, worming and stuff from a vet and this can be quite expensive. Family finances may not be able to cover that. Don't try to "hide" him from your father, that's not going to work, believe me.
It's wonderful if you can socialize him for a while and protect him. If the family can afford to take care of the kitten properly then you can probably find a home for him.

Who says he'd be put down? He's a kitten....that doesn't mean he'll die without his mother.
Since it's causing strife in your home, contact your local no-kill shelter and see if someone there can take him in. Many have people who are knowledgable in the field of caring for abandoned kittens.

I think what you're secretly hoping is that your dad will let you keep the kitten. See if your mom and you can convince him of that and if not, turn him over to the SPCA and they will take care of him. Don't worry, kittens are usually adopted right away.

Take him to be seen by your vet, so he can start his vaccines if he is old enough and also his worming. I would either ask your vets office if they can possibly adopt him out or if they know of a rescue group that will look to find him a home, most rescues here in my state will work with him so that he becomes more handleable and such. you are doing a good deed and much luck to you and your kitty.

If you hide it in the house Dad will find out and probably break out the broiler pan. Your best bet is to take it to the humane society or some organization for lost and abounded animals.

get your mom to talk to your dad. that's what i do. and you can feed it the milk that it needs or whatever untill its old enought to leave. and maybe by then your dad won't mind the cat and will let you keep it. But for sure right now, it should get the shots it needs.

ask your mom if she could talk to your dad into letting you keep him until he is a little older. if that does not fly, take him to the shelter. I'm sure some really nice folks will see him and fall in love. :)
