I've got 3, and the one on my lower belly hurt the least...I barely felt it for the most part.
I've got one on the side of my lower back, and I know they say the rib area is the worst spot to get a tattoo, but the part that grazes my lowest "floater" rib didn't hurt at all...it hurt a lot worse right on the back of my hipbone.
Overall, my foot was about the same as my back...the side only stung, but one spot right in the center of the top of my foot...ouch!
So yeah, I'd say fattier areas with fewer nerve endings are the easiest to get done.

Every body's pain level is different, so you will get a lot of different answers to this question! I have six tattoos...two above my breast ( they did not hurt...lots of padding there! ) One on the back of my neck ( that one did not hurt either ) One on my low back that was quite painful, especially over the spine. I have one on top of my left foot that was also very painful and one on my right ankle that goes around the ankle on onto the top of my foot. That one hurt as well. Usually they are more painful over a bony area such as the ankle or foot. An area that has more muscle or fat does not seem to hurt as much. Even though a few of mine were painful, they were worth it because I love them and have not regretted any of them!

Have the tattoo artist help you But they say the less fat that is the closest to the bone the more it hearts. So have it put it on a place with a little fat on it .But always make shore your tattoo artist is legal and every thing is new or sterile.

you kno your epidermis the one thats showing, and removable one so you can take it off when ur finished with it...
if your having second thoughts bout it then leave it til later when you know where and the pain doesn't matter. if your not then a place on your body you're used to feeling clothing or wind or sun and leaving the pain go away numb places like the tanned back of your arm or your finger tips (not cos theyre the most sensitive part, your extemities lol).
search on nervous system on wikipedia if youre that consumed by it.

If I'd have to guess one place I'd have to say it was the butt. From what I understand the most painful places are close to the bone.

Won't matter. Part of the pain is the infection and all the pus running out. Then the pain subsides when the gangrene sets in, then your whole body part rots off.
