yes i did ....my youngest son was using drugs and brought a gun down and pointed it at me and my friend and my mom and i went down to talk to juvenile....they put him in some place for awhile but he learned more there than he knew before...anyway it did not help him and he has never forgiven me for it...i loved that son and thought they would know what was best to do...so he hangs around mostly with my ex...drinking and all , not living in a clean house and just makes me sick....so i regret this yes....sometimes i think it is best not to involve the law at all...i miss my grandchildren that he has now too...

No, I have never reported anyone in my family to the police. But, for what ever reason you may have done this, I'm sure, you felt as though you were doing the right thing, regardless of the fact that it was a family member.
Stick by your beliefs and be strong in what you feel is right, until or unless someone prove you wrong or show you what is right.

NO! My family and I reported my brother for stealing $1000 from my grandmother, and dealing with drugs. He was sent to a rehab and today is doing absolutely wonderfully! I will never regret doing that, since it helped him and improved his life. If we hadn't reported him, I don't know where he would be today. It hurts to do something like that to a family member, but it's called "tough love." My brother has grown up and has always understood the decision that my family and I had to make.

I just reported my dad to the police about 5 mins ago for abuse. I tried to get him to go back to rehab via an intervention, but it didn’t work so well and he just ended up giving me a serious beating. He needs help, and since he wasn't willingly to go on his own, someone had to step in.
So in response to your question, no, I don’t regret reporting him. Granted I haven't had to deal with the repercussions yet, but nothing can be worse then the beatings I’ve sustained over the years.

I'm glad none of my family members has ever done something so serious that deserves a police report.
I'm sorry you or somebody else had to. It must be a really difficult situation to experience.

Yes, I had my own father arrested once, but he deserved it! He molested me when I was only 12 years old. My brother told me I was only trying to get him put in the penitentiary1, but oh well, he shouldn't have done the crime if he couldn't do the time! Anyway, I kind of regret it but, then again he deserved it ,like I said, Don't do the crime if you can't do the time! Don't you think?

Yes, i certainly have the thing i regretted was the police did not take appropiete action & actually breached my trust.....it has caused me to have trust issue with the police, which makes it hard to feel safe to take action against anyone again.

Not at all. I was 11. My uncle came knocking (actually banging!) on our front door at 2 AM. He drove down from Greenville, SC to our house in Lake Worth, FL, on his way to Opa Locka, FLA to stay with relatives (unanounced, of course). All he wanted was bathroom and a free meal. I look out at his car. He had STOP SIGNS tied onto the roof of his car. He stole them along the way. Why, do not know, do not care!! I called the police on him. They arrested him for stealing stop signs, and a LOT of other things in his station wagon. They never banged on our door again at 2 AM.

I understand your conundrum. However; I may be bias, I come from a whole family of law enforcement.....I would report them. I would feel bad, but the law is the law and its not right or legal to hurt someone else.

no, that is something that i am very careful of. You want to make sure you are in the right state of mind before you contact the police. They can make things worse if the conditions are not really that bad.
