In Manhattan, on Central Park: Per Se (very expensive $210 Prix Fixe per Person) Nirvana
In Manhattan also: Rainbow Room (Rockefeller Center)
Above (Times Square Hilton)
All of these are expensive, and some get mixed reviews, check out the link for more info.
PS Tavern on the Green = Tourist Trap -- bad food, full of poorly dressed tourists etc. don't waste your money.

Go to Market Foods at the Time Warner Building, Columbus Circle and get yourself a picnic. Then cross over the road and head into Central Park.

south highway sea port is quite effective interior the summertime and so is the village, Conney island is likewise a romantic place. yet long island has alot of great seashores and funky little cities with numerous romantic places

Hey, Afgani restuarant opn 51st and 9 ave; the lights are dim and its a cozy place;also the food is GREAT!!!!
