I've heard of "Man-goo" in the sour cream at taco bell. Is that an urban legend or for real? The finger in the chili at Wendy's was just stupid. I'm talking about real stuff...spit, bugs, ect. I've also heard of flight attenants wiping the toilet with a teabag before serving it to an unruly passenger.

Sorry Beck, didn't mean to offend. I treat fry-cooks and CEO's all the same. To me they are all God's children. If a customer is a d1ck, he/she is just asking for a little something extra in their McWhopper.

I am not too sure about the "Jose-inaise", but I do know that harressed and insulted food servers do practice passive-agressive behaviors including spitting into drinks and foods. It even gets life threatening when they add nuts or shell-fish despite being told of allergies. This behavior is definitely not limited to fast food places, in fact I would bet that better restaurants have more cases of this than cheap places do.

Over many years in the restuarant business, I have heard of some really nasty practices:

Food scooped out of the garbage to fill a "doggy-bag"

Plates being smeared with detergent and then used to serve salad.

Nose blowing, boogers and spit added to meals.

Food recycled from the dishwashing station, warmed and reserved as fresh.

Chicken blood drizzled into a drink in place of grenadine.

Vegitarian dishes cooked in meat fats.

"Extra plates" being dirtied, wiped and sent to the table.

The list goes on and on....and this was a $25.00 per dinner restaurant.

Reasons and excuses:
"S/He never tips...."
"customer was rude to me..."
"customer was too demanding..."
"customer asked for extra plate...cheap-skate!..."
"vegitarians are terrible tippers...."

I avoid eating out at all anymore...especially in the Passive-Aggressive Center of the World.....SEATTLE!

as a fast food manager i have heard of many nasty things going in to food. however i have never seen it done. i think it is more talk than action from people who are fed up with the way they are treated by the public that they are serving. i know that things do occur i am not saying that it is all an urban legend...but i don't think the frequency is anywhere near what people think.
i will say that it is incredibly stupid to get attitude or be mean to people who are preparing your meal...whether it be fast food or full service. think before you are sarcastic and degrading to those of us in the food service industry.
