I had gotten temporary custody of my daughter in april of this year and then full custody in august, during the time of april till august, my ex wife was not granted any visitation. Since late august (the last court date) she was granted every other weekend from 8-5 sat. and 8-5 on sundays. since then my daughters grades have not been so well in school, until she begain seeing her mother again she was a straight A student. I know shes had a lot of stress on her lately due to her mother not comming and picking her up when shes suppose to. but i cant let her fail 4th grade because of it, does anyone have any ideas as to how i may help her overcome this stressfull time in her life and to get her grades back on track?

Create a personal plan for her with her school counselor, teacher, you, and of course your daughter. Invest in a tutor for your child (sometimes high school students will do this free to fill a volunteer credit). Get her professional counseling asap. There are things she will not talk to you, her mother, her friends, or anyone else about.

Just try to talk to her about her fears and concerns and honestly, if she won't open up to you maybe find another female role model that she will open up to. Does she have an aunt she is close to? A friend's mom? Someone else? Sometimes a girl just needs another woman to talk to especially if she's afraid her feelings will hurt yours.

Just talk to her about what's going on. Let her be able to talk freely about what's going on and how it affects her. It may help if she has someone to talk to. If she isn't comfortable talking with you, maybe she could talk to a child therapist. Hope things get better.
