My sister has a long wire stuck on the right side of her mouth.
She doesn't have any wax to put on it, but we're trying to bend the wire down because it keeps poking her right cheek.
Any suggestions?

Get some scissors and cut it. My son had the same problem, and we snipped it off. It worked and it quit hurting him.

Use a a smal plier such as the one Micheals or Home depot Eclectrical dept sell. Need to make sure that you put a small gauge/2X2 behind the wire since the wire might fly out /imbed in her cheek. Call the orthodontist for appt.

Take a pair of wire cutting pliers and cut it off. This is what they are going to do at the ortho, so dont make her wait, do it now. It doesn't hurt and it will take away the pain faster. But be careful not to brake a bracket off. it is so easy to do.

our orthodontist says it's ok to clip the back of the wire with a nail clipper. now i never have, i go back and let him do it. that's what we pay him for! it means the teeth are shifting in the direction that the wire is becomming longer.

she needs to go and get the wire adjusted. i JUST got mine adjusted...it was stuck in my gum. now its all better! call your orthodontist and make an immediate emergency appt. if she doesnt, it COULD get infected...not to say it WILL but its definitely a possibilty.

You'll have to go to the orthodontist, it happened to me when I had braces, if you keep trying it will only get worse.

Time to make an emergency appointment with the ortho/dentist!!! Don't make her suffer by trying to do it yourself, because it's probably not gonna work...

clip it with wire cutters or nail clippers may work, just make sure they're clean and get her an apt. to get it replaced ASAP, good luck
