Everytime I hear it in so many ways, it use to hurt my inner soul, I try to let it go through my ears cause it's said so much by everyone.
If it hurts me in that way, just think how much it hurts our Lord when you put his name in vain, especially when his feelings are more sensitive and massive than ours.
God's compassion is greater, his hurts are greater too.

What is your feelings on this, does that hurt you when you hear our Lords name in vain?

Yes, I find it offensive, but I seek to turn it round for that person, when possible. For example, if someone says "Oh, my god," I ask ' "Is He really", or "good god" - I say, "Yes He is, would you like me to tell you exactly HOW good He is", and so use these as opportunities to witness.

In these days, more than ever, we need to take the opportunities that are open for us, and what satan means for harm, the Lord can turn around for good.

It does hurt. But, I think that it hurts The Lord more when Christains hear people take His name in vain and do not witness to them. It is entirely possible that the lost do not know that taking His name in vain is a sin, but as Christians we should know this and be happy to tell the world.

A-men. Thank you for bringing up the subject.
My beloved and I have decided to bag R rated entertainment because of this; we are donating or destroying any of our DVD library, I have given up reading for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is having to stop in the middle when cursing begins.
Try this: When you hear the One's name in vain, add silently or out loud, "be praised."

Sorry, yet your so-stated as data approximately ninety 9% of folk believing all of those commandments is plenty off. Granted that the US is majority "christian" united states, it truly is plenty from a ninety 9% majority. the 1st 4 commandments ARE non secular and particular to a minimum of one "god". subsequently, they arrive decrease than the 1st substitute as far because of the fact the "employer of religion". The stability are easy ordinary ethical standards that tremendously plenty everybody is familiar with besides, we don't desire "god" to let us know those issues are incorrect. you have a good ingredient on the "adultery" in case you're a "christian". Divorce and remarriage are in any different case entirely criminal in this united states. And there ae a great many "christians", which includes pastors, ministers, televangelists, and so on. that are divorced/remarried, so as that shows how plenty even "christians" stay by potential of their own regulations, so why would desire to they have any proper to submit them and picture they're binding on all and sundry else? advantages on your experience!

I find it hilarious that some churches instruct their parishoners to replace that with saying "Jesus god!" like that isn't taking the lord's name in vain twice?

I always make fun of my mom for doing it. Whenever she is crabby, the blasphemy flows like river rapids. And I'm not even a Christian, but I still consider the ignorance of blasphemy.

Yes, it does bother me, more than anything else in the world. A person can say f*** or s*** all they want, but it just REALLY irks me when people say "GD" or any other variation of taking God's name in vain.
Profanity really doesn't bother me that much, except when a person is ****in swearing every ****in other ****in word.

It hurts knowing that the person doesn't know Jesus and may be in danger of spending eternity in the Lake of Fire.

Yeah, I find it disrespectful. I always tell them after they say GD....that isn't God's last name. You have to just pray for those people.
