Why do illegal immigration supporters call people who are against illegal immigration racists? All that does is prove how ignorant you are. I am all for people wanting to come to America to better their lives as long as they do so within the confines of the law. My aunt came to this country legaly from Vietnam after her father and brothers were jailed and sent to re-education camps by the communists. She had to go through the process of becoming a citizen. Is it just her bad luck that tens of thousands did not come with her so she could just demand becoming a citizen? Border crackdowns are neccisary not only to stem the tide of immigration, but also to make sure those who enter the country are law abiding citizens not terrorists, and that goes for both sides of the border.

i do no longer think of people help unlawful immigration (apart from illegals). i think of everybody is thinking how porous our borders are that thousands and thousands are crossing the border illegally. And the present form of unlawful immigrants that are contained in the states. i'm puzzled whether on what the latino community needs. the stairs taken to deport unlawful immigrants have been met with an outcry from the hispanic community as discrimintation. Are they protesting for all unlawful immigrants be allowed to stay? in basic terms thinking. And illegals will proceed to pour from the borders as long as people save hiring and taking advatage of those undocumented workers.

Are you friggin' Chui's son or something? You are a racist because that is synonymous with uneducated moron, but why you are a putz is a question only you can answer! Who frickin' cares, if you can't get the Ni99ers off of welfare how are you going to replace the workforce that the illegals make up for America. I'll take care of my families security. Why would I leave it up to bumbling idiots like you. So don't hand me that crap. I'll take the illegals over the career welfare families any day of the week. Thanks for forgetting that mess before moving on to the next one. Start there and weed out the worthless, let's keep the hard workers, THAT'S what America wasa built on, Hard work and dedicated people.

Well not everyone who is against illegal immigration is racist, but judging from some racist remarks, there are plenty of racists who have made immigration a race issue. Also, like Some Random Guy said, it's an excuse for some racists to spit their racist views out there. They can't do it to Blacks anymore, or are to scared to say it to their faces, so who's the next easiest target? Latinos! And if all illegal Mexicans were to leave, there would still be plenty of crime, welfare mothers, unemployment, hatred, and of course that non-stop war in Iraq, so they have to focus on one issue to take their mind off their miserable lives.

Have you read some of the questions and comments from people on the same side of the issue as you? Some of them are disgusting and go beyond calling for tighter border security. One guy called all Latinos criminals without morals. There is no other way to define an attitude like that other than racist. I'm not saying that all or even most are racist. But there are enough of them out there to reflect badly on people with the same view but who are not racist, such as yourself. Your argument is with them, not with me.
For the record, I'm for strict immigration control but I am also for working a path to legal status for most of the people who are already here.

There is no such animal!

An illegal, is a person in this country illegally.

An immigrant is someone allowed in this country
by our government, by having the correct papers in order, i.e. visa etc.

You can't have it both ways!

My grandparents were immigrants, who came through Ellis Island, New York- the legal way.

All they are doing is showing their ignorance on a very sensitive subject that they refuse to learn nothing about. I only call the subject of Illegal Immigration sensitive because all it takes is one wrong word about it and it sets too many people off.

Granted that there are a few anti-immigration people who do use the subject as a way of being racist, not everyone is like that, and it is wrong of the illegal immigration supporters to push everyone against illegal immigration into the racist category.

i think its because alot of people use the anti immigration thing as a smoke screen to be racist i've heard anti immigration type people talk about it and they did cross the fine-line into being racist and it has to be about race is the way i figure it

because if it wasnt then why is illegal immigration one of the biggest topics in America right now when thiers things SO much worse going on and THIS is the only thing you people focus on?:

thiers reason behind that

Lets see;
2,000 miles of Mexican border, 2,000 miles of border between Canada and Alaska, 3,000 miles of border with Canada, 12,000 miles of maritime border, and where do you support a fence, between you and the brown people. That’s why some might think you’re a racist.

I hate illegals. My school is 60% Mexican and 80% of them are
illegals. They litter the halls. They make out with one another. they talk about gangs and joining the. They bring Mexican rap and play it loudly in the halls. They continuosly talk in Spanish. Its cool at first but then they keep talking in these large gangs in the halls. "GUBBA. GUBBA,GUBBA"!!! According to research Mexican kids are mostly the ones that do not pass standerdized tests!! I hate them. Ones a Mexican kid on te bus said to me
"Hey you have a bomb in your bag" because I look like Im Muslim but Im Hindu (Legal from India, dads a comp programer)
and I got really hurt by that comment so I said "Do you have your passport in that bag". Those kids are just messed up. They go to special ed classes and get all the respect from teachers for getting F,s in their classes. They start touch dancing in the at lunch and get into fights. they cuss and wear inappropriate
clothes. Im not prjudice but its all true. According to personal experiance and reasearch. Why do my parents go through hell for a citizenship coming legally and they get sympathy for coming illegally. Even to the ones that are legal they still do the same things.

Your question is well put and thoughtful but you will get some answers berating you for being a racist and calling you a liar. The race card is all they have short of agreeing with you.
