men like to think that they rule the house. truth is women have to let men have the remote so they can have the rest of the house in peace even though they don't like it!!

Because men know how to use them. Give a woman a remote control and who knows where it will end - they'll be asking to use the computer next and wasting time on yahoo answers instead of spending valuable time in the kitchen or other useful female pursuits, like ironing my socks.

Not in my house I brought the TV, I pay the TV licence, I pay for the electric, therefore I own the remote control. its mine!

i have noticed that too....but i live alone but do you know when my son came to visit all he wanted to watch was deer hunting...i asked him why don't we watch a dvd or something else on tv...he acted like he was getting mad so i just turned off my computer and went to my room...like i was the child or something.....but he hasn't came to viist in a while now either...but what is wrong with sharing the tv and watching something we all find interesting....i know anyway another reason i got a divorce...not a big reason but boys learn a lot of their dads ways....run over the woman....

I think it goes down to deeply held ideas of who's in charge or who's head of the household. I guess that's why most families have more than one tv. Maybe that's why a lot of us are sitting at our computers istead of watching tv right now.

that's a territorial challenge, isn't it ? they favor to be on suitable of issues. my significant different is poor - once my again is grew to develop into, he will swipe the distant, and could no longer hand it again ! drives me mad coz he's poor at channel surfing, and with us having Sky television, there are one hundred's of channels for him to flick through..... the worst challenge even with the actuality it quite is that he will sprawl out on the settee and bypass to sleep, yet he continually manages to nod off laid ontop of the distant, so i visit't replace the channel.... it annoys me senseless. i guess i might want to wake him up, yet then he in elementary words denies being asleep, and insists that he's observing what ever's on... (entire bull....)
