Peanut shells can be eaten. They contain some 6 to 7 percent crude protein and 60-70 percent crude fiber. We hear from quite a few people who say they enjoy eating the shells so you're in good company. I asked a food scientist friend if he knows of any problem with eating the shells and he said no. So enjoy!

Yes they are, meaning can you eat them? Sure - most everything can be eaten - but I don't think they will digest very well.

I've seen cows eat them, I think it is more like cow food or pig food or something like that.
