I can understand your concern. I'm 19 and I understand that the threat is out there. Just be sure to raise an aware child who understands that there are dangers out there. If all teenage users of instant messaging and Myspace and such would be taught to recognize a bad situation I could see the current situation improving. Kids should be taught certain rules while using these services such as only talking to friends, contacting authorities or the website owners of wrongful actions taken by others. Recognizing the issue as NBC has done is the first step to fixing the problem.

It's a lot more prevalent in this society than we think. One can never really know what a person is like since these pervs come from different walks of life. What's worse is that these pervs think they won't get caught. We should really ask the law makers to get even tougher than they already are on these predators. Make harsher laws and castrate these pedophiles and maybe they'll stop!

Yes its very very scary... whats worse is out state prison is 2 blocks from an elementry school and there is a Sex Offender counseling center across the stree from that same school. I bet if the parents were aware that those guys were going to see these people right next to their childs school they would not be happy!

What gets me is that there are also female perverts out there and they aren't getting caught until they actually do something with, for example, a student or child they babysit. I'm all for getting every last perv off the street and away from the children.

I disagree with answerer who says all men have that seed in them. I believe these sickos are demon possessed. I want to know why the govenment has not arrested every member of the National Association of the Man Boy Love group. You just keep being overprotective and make sure your daughter is secure enough to talk to you about any one getting personal with her.

I don't think it's any more prevalent now than before. I just think that people talk about it more. It's not the strangers you need to worry about. They say that a child is much more likely to be molested by a friend or family member.

all men have that seed in them. Why is it older men go for younger girls, or that some men prefer shaven? Anyway there's a line that shouldn't be crossed, but it is so easy to tip over that line. the dateline people and the actors they hire know exactly how to put those guys over the line, and they'll keep on catching them too.
