I'm trying to figure out if my reason for not losing weight is due to the wine I drink. I tend to stick to dry wines and thought they were less fattening.

1 fl ounce has about 25 calories and 1 carb. So a four ounce glass is about 5 carbs and 100 cals. The problem is this...wine, and all alcoholic beverages are metabolized as sugar, and for some reason, having sugars in your system makes it more difficult to lose weight.

I have recently lost 75 pounds. I didn't drink any alcohol for 6 months, and that did the trick along with a low calorie diet and exercise.

Now I limit my wine to only once or twice a week...and am maintaining to losing a few.

I am having the same problem. I know that white wine is 111 calories a glass. Now, these are like 6oz. glasses which I almost never pour or even get at a bar, they are more like 8 to 12 oz....I don't know carb content.
I recently started seeing a personal trainer and she said stick to red wines and clear liquor, but not too much. lol.
