You see. It's already started. Answerers saying that they'll pray for you because they're right and everybody else is wrong.
You're dead right, these fundamentalist religions MUST be eliminated and thrown into the dustbin of history if the race is to survive.

I don't believe it's the religions themselves that are offensive... by themselves they are nothing. The followers, now, are another story. And it's the extremists who go to "war" for their religion, while trying to sell people that their God is peaceful and loving... merciful and just, that should no longer be tolerated. That Phelps character comes to mind first... the dregs in here who try to pull this are a close second. But fighting that sort of thing head-on doesn't work. They will simply cry that they are being persecuted and therefore it "proves" they are right. It's like arguing with an insane man who thinks he's on Mars with Unicorns.

instead of hating other religions for their differences, why not marvel at the similarities?
Not one of these religions truly advocates hating another, or taking a life to force others to see their message. That's the way it was done in the dark ages.
even Christianity doesn't insist that the only way to worship God is in a church. you can be close to your religion from anywhere, and accept all people.
personally, I perceive all holy writings to be instructions for a good and moral life - again, something they all have in common.
Religion isn't evil, its the way extremists twist the interpretation and preach it as an excuse for their terrible actions. Religion has always been used as an excuse for war.
Early pagans had the right idea... the simple message there is 'Harm no one'. That's the path I choose.

Apparently some of them can't realize that there are other religions in the world. If god did created the world, its people and the many different cultures, why can't they accept the fact that he also created the many different religions? No religion is better than any other religion and no religion is evil. Is how people practice their religion what causes others to categorize the religion as evil or not. Take a look at some christian extremists. They bomb abortion clinics and kill people in the process just to get their point across and frankly, that is sad. Using terror tactics to help futher your cause is wrong. They give a bad image for other Christians who truly believe in Christianity and just want to live their lives honestly without causing any harm to others.

Of course people of all religions believe that theirs is the only true one. How could it be otherwise? But they are not usually the ones who are offensive about other's - it's the unbelievers who are, who write about "crap" and "myths". One must feel sorry for them, because all religions help towards a peaceful life , except for the fanatics.

Well most enlightened people believe in the freedom of religion in the US Constitution and people like you have caused some of the worst tragedies in human history trying to tell people what they can and cant believe in, burning down their houses, killing their families, and driving them out of their countries.
Intolerance to the point of inciting violence or committing is even wrong by human standards not to mention Gods.....

Because that is what is taught. Why do people think one color is prettier than another color?
I have a question for you though. Why is it that people who don't believe in God, Have really strong opinions on why they don't believe in God? Why do they have to really argue their point that God doesn't exist? Why wouldn't they use that same energy for arguing about the easter bunny, or santa clause?

My belief is that we should love all, forgive all, show mercy and judge no-one. What part of that is evil or offensive?

well, i try not to be offensive (in existence or in doctrine) and i try to be tolerant of other religions. but i can't really say that i accept the other religions' ideologies because then there are contradictions... and that doesn't add up for me. i hope this doesn't offend you, just wanted to throw in my two cents.
