the one I pray from my heart.
I don't really care for someone else's word coming out of my mouth.

It varies from day to day. But what I say mostly when I pray to God, it is a prayer of thanks for everything that has happened in my day, be it good or bad.

To experience good days as well as bad days means I am still alive and well because it was the will of God.

I work across from a funeral home where so many lay there every day, that can't say the same thing I do. I am blessed. But one day i too will lay there in that funeral home, and again, I shall be blessed.

My favorite prayer is the one that comes from the heart. I don't believe in set prayers except for certain things.

My favorite prayer is asking for forgiveness for my sins and praying for the leaders of our nation that they will make the right choices.

The Priestly benediction:

God commands Aaron (the High Priest - Kohen) and his sons, “… So shall you bless the children of Israel: Say (Amor, in Hebrew) unto them, ‘May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; May the Lord lift His face towards (forgive) you and grant you peace’. And they shall place My name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them” (Numbers 7:23-27).

I like Mary's prayer to God in Luke 1:46-55:

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.

For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness;
behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.

The Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.

His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm,
dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones
but lifted up the lowly.

The hungry he has filled with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped Israel his servant,
remembering his mercy,
according to his promise to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever."

With love in Christ.

Our father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever and ever Amen.

Mechanical prayers irk God. He likes those with praises that are sincere and not demanding.
Recall also that prayers must be in Jesus name to even be heard.

I normally just pray from my heart, in fact, more like a conversation with God, but for "written" prayers this is one of my favorites. Its by Alexander Pope

The Universal Prayer

Father of all! In every age,
In ev'ry clime ador'd,
By saint, by savage, and by sage,
Jehovah, Jove, or Lord!

Thou Great First Cause, least understood,
Who all my sense confin'd
To know but this, that Thou art good,
And that myself am blind:

Yet gave me, in this dark estate,
To see the good from ill;
And, binding Nature fast in Fate,
Left free the human Will.

What Conscience dictates to be done,
Or warns me not to do;
This teach me more than Hell to shun,
That more than Heav'n pursue.

What blessings thy free bounty gives
Let me not cast away;
For God is paid when man receives;
To enjoy is to obey.

Yet not to earth's contracted span
Thy goodness let me bound,
Or think thee Lord alone of man,
When thousand worlds are round.

Let not this weak, unknowing hand
Presume thy bolts to throw,
Or teach damnation round the land
To each I judge thy foe.
When I am right, thy grace impart,
Still in the right to stay;
When I am wrong, O teach my heart
To find that better way.

Save me alike from foolish Pride
Or impious Discontent,
At aught thy wisdom has denied,
Or aught that goodness lent.

Teach me to feel another's woe,
To right the fault I see:
That mercy I to others show,
That mercy show to me.

Mean tho' I am, not wholly so,
Since quicken'd by thy breath;
O lead me whereso'er I go,
Thro' this day's life or death!

This day be bread and peace my lot:
All else beneath the sun
Thou know if best bestow'd or not,
And let Thy will be done.

To Thee, whose temple is of Space,
Whose altar earth, sea, skies,
One chorus let all Beings raise!
All Nature's incense rise!
By Alexander Pope
