How about you be responsible and take the dog to the vet instead of posting a question on the Internet!!!! no offense, but this puppy is just like a child in the sense that you have to watch over it and take care of it. Vet visits do not cost "a fortune". This sounds serious!!!

First of all don't freak out. It could be a tumour but most tumours are not cancerous. Like in cats when they get in a fight, debris can get stuck in a wound causing it to get infected. It sounds more like an infection or a reaction to a bite or sting. If the lump or swelling does not get smaller by the morning or if it gets bigger, take your dog to the vet, hopefully in the same day. The vet may need to put a drain into it if it is an abscess. If your dog is not in any discomfort or showing any signs of distress don't panic. Most tumours grow slowly. You would have noticed the lump a long time ago if it is the size of a small orange now. Hope all turns out well.

Please disregard the smartass responses to this question. My dog had developed a lump right next to her left front shoulder. It had to be removed and biopsied. Thank God it was benign. Hon, spend the money. Get it biopsied. It's not a great amount of money, maybe about 150-200$. I'm not sure, but the vet will give you an estimate, and might let you make it in payments. Your pet is in need of help. GL and God Bless

It might be cancer and it might not. My six year old Rottie had a cancer in his toe. It was removed. Now he has a lump on his back the vet tested it and it came back not cancer but neither he or I are convinced its not. So I am having it removed and sending the whole thing away for testing. I would if I were you take him to the vet. He depends on you and money IS NOT everything.

you'll just have to spend the fortune at the vet. But if you have a Humane Society center nearby, they have checkups for a fraction of the price at the clinics.

In the times of alcohol mobs there have been wars practically within the open. The might "pass to the mattresses" clear of their houses. The introduced in Mattresses as beds and in addition to preserve our bodies till the would get the our bodies among 2 mattresses, right into a truck and out to the geographical region had been they had been buried. Sometimes the dumped the our bodies and bought mattresses. It was once shrewd to appear all sides of a bed you could purchase inexpensive.

It could be a tumor, a goiter, or swollen gland... but you won't know for certain until you take the dog to a vet and get the enlargement biopsied.

Does the lump feel hard, soft, mushy? If it's hard, it could be cancer. If it's soft or mushy it could be a cyst, fatty tumor, or a swollen gland.
In any case, you need to see the vet.

take your dog to the vet, it's probably nothing serious, but you should know what you're dealing with
