If you wanna date her, I suggest getting her parents' permission. This way, everything would be legal.

Nothing wrong with liking one just can't touch one til she's 18....if you were 30 she'd be 25 so there's nothing wrong with that. That's not a wide gap...only seems so because of the age. My ex wife is 8 years younger than me....she was smart enough to know an older man is more experienced and is a much better lover and will make sure she's satisfied before himself.

I don't think it's "wrong" to take a fancy in her.....but I am glad you realize you should nto act on it, until she is of age. The age difference is pretty bif, but you don't like her just because of her age do you? I mean if you liked her just because she was that young, yes there would be something wrong. Ppl can be attracted to someone no matter what their age is. When I was 16 I liked this guy that was like 24....I would have never acted on it, but he did and I was very impressionable. In all reality, he could have gone to jail. And so can you. She is too young. Think about this....what can you two honestly do together? She can't go out to anywhere that serves alcohol with you, she will have to be home at curfew. Your friends prob won't want someone so young hanging around. She's in school, and should be spending her time on education. Technically you can't even sleep with her, it's statutory rape - even if she does consent. I very highly doubt her parents would approve, and should they get upset, you could very likely face charges.
It is just an infatuation, it will pass. Go find a woman around your own age or atleast 18. Someone you can share your interests and activities with. I promise it will be much more enjoyable, and safer.
Besides that, it wouldn't be fair to the girl if you did act on this in any way shape or form. She wouldn't be able to have a true "relationship" with you, and it would upset her, that she would be left out of so much with you. She may sneak around to be with you, causing her trouble. What if she got pregnant? And you don't want to lead her on and hurt her, when really you two can't be together, do you?
Best for both of you if you just forget about her. But no, there's nothing wrong with you.

There is nothing wrong with you liking her and just being friends with her. However, IF you really like her, then you will wait until she is of age and then proceed with any kind of romantic involvement that you wish. However, until then, you need to remember that she IS 16 and you need to take into consideration the lack of maturity, etc. Do you really want to be with a kid? Perhaps, you should be seeking an adult, at least until this girl is legal.

These laws are for sexual consent in the United States only. As with any laws, these are subject to change. If you see two ages in one cell, that is because the age of consent is different for females and for males. Yes, that is stupid, but I didn't make these laws.
Although many young people are mature enough to know how to deal with the consequences of sex, some teens are not grown up enough to know that their actions have consequences. Age of consent laws are there to stop young people from being exploited by adults.
That is why you need to register to VOTE at age 18 and make your opinions heard! End of lecture.
Go to this site and it will give you age by state that will inform you of the age differences that change state by state. Good luck!

first I am glad you realize she is a bit young. Right now, it's best to wait until she is a bit older. Some 16 year old are mature and she might be one of them. Once she is 18, the gap between both of you wont be so bad.

What's up man,
i'm a 27 year old guy,
Wel there's proabbly nothing "wrong" with you for liking her, that's not the part i would be concerned with
However, you better be sure as HELL you don;t do anything with her, becuase i know two guys who have gotten nailed with contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, 8 months in jail and five years probation.
if i were you i would not become her boyfreind, just too many reasons not too.

I would ask yourself how much you truly like this 16 year old. Do you have common interests? If you were dating, would you both be able to go to the places you like? Would you want to listen to her discuss her math homework or parents while you are thinking about your job/college courses/etc?
I don't think there is anything wrong with you for being attracted to her, but I do think you may want to rethink whether or not you would be able to have a working relationship.
