He is 19 yrs old, has a drivers license but has to borrow his grandma's car, which she lets him use 'sometimes'. He asked me out to the movies today and instead of taking me out, he just shows up at my door asking me if I want to go 'cruising 'with him and his cousin and her bf , who were all in the car.I was not expecting him. He has money but can never use a car when he promises to take me on a date. He has no diploma or no job and lives with his grandmother. He spends all night on the computer and sleeps all day, so if I want to talk to him, it has to be late at night. PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, let's review -- he has no diploma, no job, lives with his grandma, spends all night on the computer, you can't talk to him in the daytime, he shows up whenever he feels like it, doesn't do what he says he'll do... what a bargain!

Seriously, sweetie -- he does it because he can. This is a person who is pretty much into what he wants and not much else. There's no deep psychological reason why he does this, and you can't fix it (or him). He asks very little of himself and uses the people in his life to enable him to live the lifestyle of his choice - that includes Grandma, and you.

So since you can't fix him, it's time to ask yourself what you want out of life, and is this part of it? He may change, some day, but only in the ways that make sense to him, and only when he wants to, so what do you want?

If what you want is more of this, then you have no problem. If not, then it's time to let him go back to his computer, while you get out and meet people who bring out the best in you, and help you get closer to the life you want.

Sorry to say, It sounds like only one of you is growing up here, and it's not him. Good luck!

Wow, he sounds like wonderful husband material - I bet you can't wait for 40 years married to that man!

Get rid of him. he has no ambition whatsoever. If you don't do it now...he'll leach off you the rest of your/his life...and will get angry and maybe even violent when you decide to break it off later....It's also a way of showing control.
