Since 1996, we've had it snow twice.

One year we had 1" of snow that melted by 5pm in the 60 degree heat.

The next time was a few years later. We had about 1-2" of snow and it lasted a few days. The kids loved the time off! It was basically on the grass only, and the streets were fine. They don't have snow plows like up North because it snows so rarely that it's not worth the cost to have a fleet. The Georgia Mountains get snow more often, but again, not as much as the Northern states...

The news stations like to make a big hype of it, showing empty bread and water shelves from panicky people, but it is pretty much just hype.

We've also had a couple of ice storms in the past 10 years, which are very pretty, but the Southern trees like Bradford Pears and Pines don't handle the ice well and their limbs break, downing power lines. Sounds like gunfire when they snap. The winter weather isn't severe like the North, but still makes life interesting... ; )

Yes, it does sometimes but not usually every year. We get more ice than snow. . We don't have snow tires or chains. We don't have snow plows. We just shut down city, stay home and drink hot chocolate. It's great just a surprise day in the middle of the winter.

i lived near atlanta for quite a while and it doesnt snow very often but ti does snow. I would say the snow isnt so bad, its the ice you have to be careful and watch out for. because it doesnt snow often there not many people know how to drive in ice and snow so ice+people who dont know how to drive in ice = accidents

Every once in awhile, last winter we have 4 snow storms. I snowed a little earlier this week. We don't get snow too often, our problem is usually ice storms. Ice is the big problem, not the snow.

Once or twice a year. Since 1990 there has been one snow storm that dropped about 12 inches of snow and it was beautiful for several days, but that is rare.

I was stationed near Atlanta while in the service, and it gets pretty cold sometimes there in the winter, so I would say yes.
