Anglès is not french or spanish, is atalan, the language spoken in Catalunia, and the meaning is "english".

"Spain has the majority of active Catalan speakers. It is spoken or understood by as many as 12 million people who live not only in Andorra and Spain, but also in parts of France (most of Pyrénées Orientales) and in the city of Alghero in Sardinia, Italy."

So, being your family from a city close from Barcelona, the capital of Catalunia, explains the origin of your surname.

Yes, it's true, all last names have a meaning. The oldest theory is that they came from what a man worked at or where he was from, and sometimes both.

I worked with a man years ago whose name was La-Point.
meaning simply ---the place!
My name in french means one who hates his job.......Go figure, I'm retired!
