If he's working, will his company sponsor him for a work visa?

University is the expensive option, but the visa is easy if he's got the financial support.

If those don't work, you may have to reconsider the marriage option. Because you can get married, that's the only way he can stay based on your relationship. You could always go to the registry office and then have a fancy one later.

No right open to him at all his visa is almost to the expiration date and you as a SWISS national I'm not sure you have the right as you say to live here so your solution is to take your SA friend to Swiss and get married and your both safe!!!!. I just wonder how many more people are living here with expired papers and has the immigration gone to bloody sleep or are they turning a blind eye

Are you sure? As a Swiss national, you have a residency right for any EU country but you have to apply for a work visa if you wish to work. Double check with your embassy.

Unless he can renew his visa, it's marry or be apart. It's a decision I've made in the past - you need to decide how much you want to stay together. Tell him to look on the Home Office website for all precise options that may be open to him.

I love the way people make commenst about the Immigration rules like they know anything about them. These questions all elicit rather bigoted answers. apply to get him entry as a family member of an EEA citizen. simple reading of the website would have told you that.

Tell him to simply turn up here!he will get everything and i mean everything from your local benefits office, what happens is that if the people who are from the uk apply they get fobbed off, however this chages so much if you are from another country, you get your own house, free health care, and many other benefits so he wont even have to work!all payed for by the hard working people of the uk like me,i`d wish you luck but its so easy you wont need it

Get a simple registry wedding initially. that should allow him to legally live here in the uk. I know you aren't keen on the idea but there is very little else you can do. A church blessing can be arranged at a later date!

find him a job and get another work visa, either that or go back with him. If you can afford to travel, just spend two years in each country until you decide to marry!

Apply for British Passport. They give them out like the free metro paper on the bus

Get married. If you're going to live together, doesn't make any difference. UK immigration rules are cr*p. Shame you're not dating an Albanian refugee you'd be alright.
